Starting from the fact that the number of high-capacity pumped-storage power plants for the equalization of daily load curves, and as a breakdown reserve in the networks, constantly increases, investigations are carried out for the selection of the basic electric diagram for power supply and power delivery, as well as for own requirement installations, with consideration of various influence factors. The purpose is to establish an economically optimal basic diagram adjustable to the conditions of any particular site (topography, network, operating conditions, transport conditions, etc. ). Some examples of completed or half-completed pumped storage plants are given.
