Many American cities and counties are examining and experimenting with a wide range of security and access-control systems, public-warning systems, and better lighting fixtures to alert and protect the public. Safety-conscious local governments are experimenting with a wide range of security applications, from well-lit parking garages to outdoor siren systems.
