Based on the conception of monolithic catalysts, a new type of tubular reactor Single Ring String Reactor (SRSR) has been described in this article. By analysing the flow behaviors of the reactor tube, a model of the fluid distribution in the tube was proposed and checked with experimental results. In the light of the model, a general method of designing of catalyst and selection of the optimum parameters of the reactor was suggested. Both the experimental and analytical results indicate that the tubular reactor may be improved by the use of the SRSR.
