摘要：

The layout and operation of the components of a flake-ice supply system are described, with particular reference to chemical plants. The construction of this major flake-ice plant was carried out for Farbwerke Cassella Mainkur AG, Frankfurt, Germany. Description of the layout of the installation is followed by that of the ice production by a generating plant with a capacity of 78 t/24 h. The refrigeration equipment using ammonia, the ice storage and ice conveying facilities, control and supervision, are described.
