Removal of Scandium by Liquid Extraction and Extraction Chromatography.

The possibility of practically complete floration removal of gadolinium, terbium, and dysprosium ions collected with the aid of potassium abietate from chloride solutions is demonstrated experimentally. The most complete flotation removal of these ions occurs from solutions with a pH of 7. 0 in the presence of a twofold excess of collector. The kinetics of the process of floration removal is limited by the rate of diffusion of colloid particles of sublate toward air bubble surfaces.
