摘要
This paper introduces NTT's newly developed information response and communication processing system (VIRPS). Its service concept, technogical features, and configuration are summarized here. The VIRPS handles structured high-resolution multi-media documents having text, graphics, and photographs on the same page. These documents can easily be registered, retrieved, and delivered via a 64 kbit/s digital network. Database access services and electronic mailing services are integrated under the concept of message handling services.
