摘要
MPFs (Metal-core Piezoelectric Fibers) are a new type of functional material. Its geometrical shape and fabrication process were introduced in this paper. The strain sensing principle of MPFs was investigated theoretically. The quasi-static and dynamic strain sensing properties of MPF sensors were studied experimentally. The results indicated that the sensitivities of MPF sensors were very high and the linearity of its static response was good, but there were non-linearity and hysteresis between the strain and output voltage of MPFs in the dynamic response. The effect of MPF size on its strain sensing properties and the cause of hysteresis were also investigated.
