Rail fastening systems for slab track have to comply with very special standards: A high elastic fastening system is indispensable for discharging with minimum material strain the forces caused by a train running on non-ballast or slab tracks. Innovative rail fastening systems for slab track can assume the role of the ballast bed. In order to avoid abrasion or damage caused by wheel ovality or irregularity of the rail, some kind of highelasticity rail fastening system is essential. Vossloh Fastening Systems, Werdohl (Germany), develops such products.
