In this paper, we propose a new approach for image encryption based on chaos system and insertdelete model. In the proposed image encryption scheme, the initial conditions of Lorenz system are derived by using Hamming distance, reverse Hamming distance and complement Hamming distance. Furthermore, the insert-delete model is used to change the positions of pixels in the process of encryption and decryption. Finally, the pixel values are diffused by DNA sequence XOR operation. The simulation results and security analysis show that our technique not only meets the requirements of the secure image transfer, but also has the ability of resisting any attacks. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.
