摘要
The mode characteristics of the photonic crystal fiber (PCF) are investigated in detail using the orthogonal functions, including the propagation constant, mode-field distribution, effective power confinement factor. The result shows that the big effective area of PCF used in transmitting the high power and manufacturing fiber-optic laser can be designed by changing the PCF structure parameter. The larger difference of refractive index between the fiber core and cladding layer is used to make the light power limited effectively in the fiber core to be beneficial to research the nonlinear effect.
