BacTech Mining Corp. in Toronto has focused on the establishment of joint ventures (JVs) with mining groups to support and license its technology and metals production. The company has specialized in bioleaching technology; has developed and patented bacterial oxidation technology for the treatment of refractory ores; and enhanced the recovery of gold; silver and base metals. The various JVs include upgrading diamond treatment facility in Namibia; introducing gravity concentrates in Zimbabwe; that produces low mass yield concentrates and re-circulating load sector of a milling circuit. The other JVs include expansion of the Boddington gold mine project; that includes engineering design; procurement; and construction management (EPCM). Drill rigs introduced in Brazilian iron mine are capable of drilling bigger holes in lesser time. Rising global consumption of commodities has increased the demand for surface exploration drilling in South Africa;
