Control of polarization interference in Doppler broadened two-photon resonant four-wave mixing system

摘要
We study two-photon resonant nondegenerate four-wave mixing (NFWM) in a Doppler broadened system. It is found that because the induced polarization is sensitive to the atomic velocity, there exists interference between polarizations of atoms with different velocities, leading to significant modification of the NFWM spectra. This polarization interference can be controlled through applying an additional coupling field. © 2005 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.
