摘要
A study was conducted to observe the cell surface using surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy. SERS imaging and spectroscopic measurements of the surfaces of budding yeast cell were carried out. Each of the points of the cell were found to correspond to the mannoprotein present in the cell surface layer after carrying out spectroscopic analysis of the bright points. Investigations revealed that SERS spectrum was scattered light from a single mannoprotein molecule absorbed at the junction. Comparison of the panels of the figure revealed that the manifestation of SERS in the daughter cells varied with cell cycle phase.
