Owed to various sensor data need to be transmitted in wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), including real-time video, sound, still image, and so on, the traditional MAC protocols in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) cannot satisfy our requirements. Aimed at the complex data in WMSNs, this paper proposes a novel MAC protocol, suitable for all kinds of characteristic of diverse traffic with different quality of service (QoS) factors by varying its contention window. Finally, experiment on end-to-end delay and throughput in different kinds of data. Compared with T-MAC on energy consumption, simulation results show that the new method outperform T-MAC protocol on this aspect.
