Research of time-stepping algorithms for MDOF pseudo-dynamic tests

Three integration algorithms, namely the center different method, the double β method and the α-C method, which can be used for MDOF pseudo-dynamic tests, are researched in this paper. The effects of integration parameters on structural period of the given models are discussed. It is revealed that with the implicit α-C algorithm based on Newton iteration the structural response can be precisely simulated. The spurious higher-frequency vibration signal caused by experimental errors can also be eliminated. The α-C algorithm should be adopted preferentially in the MDOF pseudo-dynamic tests.
