摘要
It was in the turn of the new millennium that Slovenia finally liberalized to join its electricity market to electricity markets of the other EU member states liberalized some 25 years ago. In 2009, the Slovenian end-consumers were given the option to select their preferable electricity supplier. A decade later, the state of the Slovenian retail market was analysed, based on number of the households and small business customers that have changed their electricity suppliers. Thus of found data were compared with the ones acquired for the Irish and Austrian market. An analysis of the trend of the number of the Slovenian end-consumers who have changed their electricity supplier in the last ten years, shows there has been a certain dynamic. The presence of particular electricity supplier on the market measured by the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) for end-consumers, decreased significantly between 2012 and 2019, indicate the market has become highly competitive. In the future, it would be useful to analyse the current state on the EU retail electricity market to take the necessary adoption steps. © 2021 Electrotechnical Society of Slovenia.
