Preparation and dielectric properties of Ca1-xLa2x/3 Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics

Pure CaCu2Ti4O12 ceramics and La doped ones Ca1-1.5xLax Cu3Ti4O12(x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were prepared using traditional solid phase reaction method. The dielectric properties were measured by Agilent 4192 A LF Impedance Analyzer, and the measurement frequencies ranged from 0.1 to 1000 kHz. Temperature dependence of dielectric constant and loss of La-doped CCTO were compared with that of pure CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics. The results showed that the dielectric loss of Ca1-1.5xLax Cu3Ti4O12 was lower than 1%. and the dielectric constant was up to 4 000.It was suggested that the low dielectric loss CCTO ceramics by doping La2O3 was a promising material for multi-layer ceramics capacitor (MLCC) applications.
