摘要
The effects of different schemes of weirs on fluid flow in a billet concasting tundish at Kunming Iron and Steel were investigated by water modeling experiments and numerical simulation. The RTD curves in different conditions were determined by stimulation-response method according to the similarity theory. Comparing the influences of different schemes of weirs on fluid behavior which can be determined by measuring average residence time distribution (RTD) curves, we can make sure the best design for the new barricade. The results showed that it was available to increase response time of nozzle and average residence time, raise plug flow volume by 27.5%, decrease dead zone volume by 29.9% and improve fluid flow behavior in tundish by using suitable weir.
