Bulk self-healing behaviour based on water-excited chemically bonded phosphate ceramic coating and its anti-corrosion resistance

摘要
Since industrial metal equipment is subjected to rigorous corrosion and wear, traditional inorganic coatings lack rapid self-healing to limit application. A chemically bonded phosphate ceramic (CBxPA) coating was successfully fabricated by two-component spraying, which exhibited significant corrosion protection and water-excited bulk self-healing ability. Results confirmed that MgKPO4 & sdot;6H2O crystal stacking formed the denser and uniform coating, the unreacted ions were stored in the coating waiting for the water to excite to generate rapidly bulk self-healing "Whisker Clouds" layer at room temperature. The coating possessed a significant anti-corrosion selfhealing efficiency value of 68.61 % in less than 36 h and showed rust-free after 500 h of exposure to a salt solution. Based on these observations, it provides a facile strategy to construct self-healing and anti-corrosion coating.
