Information resources organizing-oriented design and analyzing of maintenance BOM

In order to effectively organize and manage the mass maintenance information resources so as to reduce data redundancy and enhance data consistency, optimized design and analysis were conducted on the structure of maintenance Bill of Material (BOM). Maintenance information resources of complex products were classified from the perspectives of information resources organization and management. Through the analysis of different types of equipment data's characteristics from four perspectives, the compound maintenance BOM composed of neutral BOM, position BOM and instance BOM was put forward. Then the number of the nodes in the compound maintenance BOM was compared to the ones in the single-tree Maintenance BOM and a case study was discussed. The result showed that the compound maintenance BOM could significantly reduce data redundancy and enhance data consistency comparing to the single-tree Maintenance BOM. Finally key technologies and implementation of the compound maintenance BOM management were introduced.
