Effect of the particle size distribution on the properties of dry ramming mix

摘要
The composition of particle size and batch for dry ramming mix were determined in accordance with close packing theory and coefficient of particle size distribution in Andresen formulation. The packing density, bulk density after sintering, and compression strength of the specimens were measured. The experimental result indicates that the particle size distribution strongly affect all kinds of properties of the specimens. In the course of choosing composition of particle, it is not necessary to pursue the maximum of bulk density only, and the effect of composition of particles as well as powder on sintering behavior should be considered comprehensively. Both close packing, density and excellent sintering property can be achieved by choosing suitable particle size distribution.
