Research on spectrum allocation algorithm based on equilibrium price for cognitive radio network

The paper presented a spectrum allocation algorithm for cognitive radio networks using the equilibrium price theory. With the algorithm, the two-stage clustering spectrum allocation model was adopted and the expression of the optimal spectrum prices per unit for each stage was analyzed and deduced in consideration of the number of spectrum units, the number of cluster-heads and cluster-members, different priority levels of nodes and the number of active communications of nodes. Simulation results show as folliws: The proposed algorithm guarantees that the user (node) with the higher priority can obtain more spectrum resources in a cognitive radio network at the cost of the total spectrum revenue decreasing by less than 2%, as compared with the spectrum allocation strategy without taking the priority into consideration; also, it reflects the different spectrum revenues of nodes of different priorities rationally.
