Optimization of mistuning blades arrangement for vibration absorption in an aero-engine based on artificial ant colony algorithm

The effect of blade mistuning is inevitable in realistic bladed disks of an aero-engine system. It has a bad influence on the vibration characteristics of the bladed disks, the working performance and the lifetime of the whole aero-engine. By analyzing the blades arrangement, it is observed that different arrangement orderings for a group of given mistuning blades can make an obvious impact on the vibration of the bladed disk system. Based on what mentioned above, a new localization parameter method was proposed to manifest the localization level of a bladed-disk. Meanwhile, by applying artificial ant colony algorithm, the ordering of blades was optimized when assembled. The results showed that an appropriate choice of the arrangement order of mistuning blades can reduce the amplitude and localization level of the forced vibration of the system effectively, and the proposed method is feasible.
