摘要
Fast Gamma ray Spectrometer (FGS) is an on-going detector development for the observation of transient gamma ray events such as Terrestrial Gamma ray Flashes (TGFs) produced in Earth's thunderstorms and Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) produced in the far Universe. In this work, we compare different Cerium-doped Gadolinium Aluminium Gallium Garnet (GAGG:Ce) scintillators, associated with Silicon Photo-Multipliers (SiPMs), quantifying their performances at atmospheric pressure and under vacuum, with different surface conditions. We also study their afterglow following proton irradiation, similar to what will be observed in space environment. Our measurements with GAGG:Ce scintillators after proton irradiation confirm that GAGG:Ce can be used in space.
