摘要
Shake table tests were conducted to examine the seismic performance of unit houses (prefabricated metal houses). The specimens comprised 4 unit-house units connected vertically and horizontally. After experiencing the JMA Kobe record twice, welded connections at the base beam had fractured, and local buckling had occurred in some beams. Bolted beam-to-column connections dissipated substantial energy by slipping repeatedly. Non-structural wall panels were damaged around openings and near columns. Nonetheless the specimens exhibited excellent performance beyond the current Japanese code requirements for ordinary, non-temporary buildings. © 2022 Architectural Institute of Japan.
