High-temperature oxidation and microstructure evolution behavior of Ni-based superalloy GH3536 foil

In this paper; the oxidation behavior and microstructure evolution of Ni-based superalloy GH3536 foil heat-treated at 400; 600; and; 800; ℃; for; 100; 300 and 500 h were studied. X-ray diffraction; scanning electron microscopy; energy spectroscopy and microhardness tester were used to analyze the oxidized surface morphology; oxidation products; microstructure and microhardness of the foil. The results show that the oxidation of the foil follows the parabolic law; and the oxide layer is mainly composed of Cr2O3. With the increase of oxidation degree; spinel oxide appears on the surface of the oxide layer. The types and morphologies of the internal precipitated phases exhibit significant variations following oxidation at different temperatures. The main precipitated phases are M23C6; M6C; σ; and µ. When treated at 800 ℃; the formation of the oxide layer and the precipitation of the precipitated phase produce a coupling phenomenon; resulting in the precipitation position of the μ phase on the grain boundary gradually shifting to the middle of the foil. © 2024 Central South University of Technology.
