The 56-years-long association of Bob Odle with Tube City, a leading scrap concern, is discussed. By 1995, Odle was vice president looking after scrap purchases in Tube City and by the 1960s, he was leading the company's ferrous scrap brokerage division. In the late 1980s, Tube City expanded its traditional brokerage role in scrap to become a scrap purchasing agent for select steel mills. In 2003, Tube City sold off a majority interest to Blue Point capital partners, a business move that made the concern more structured and focused.
