First measurement of spectrum of two-photon absorption coefficient for CdSe based on z-scan technique using subpicosecond laser pulses

The spectrum of the two-photon absorption (TPA) coefficients for CdSe was measured based on z-scan technique using subpicosecond laser pulses. Extremely high laser intensities were used while keeping the average laser powers low enough to avoid any thermal effect. Overall, the measured spectrum is valuable for using CdSe towards optical power limiting and autocorrelation.
