摘要
A novel measurement method is proposed to study the variety characteristic of the birefringence of high birefringence fiber with temperature. The relationship between the peak wavelength of transmission spectra of Sagnac loop based on high birefringence fiber and the birefringence are introduced. By measuring the peak wavelength displacement with temperature, the birefringence temperature coefficient is calculated. The proposed method is simple in structure and easy to be operated, which only needs a Sagnac loop mirror. Compared with the method of writing grating, this measurement simplifies the experiment complexity and reduces the design cost.
