摘要
Different kinds of solid waste were generated in the big pulp mills, which include fiber line plants, recovery plants and effluent treatment plant, etc. In this article, we introduce where and how the solid waste is produced and how the solid waste is disposed in a pulp mill whose annual production capacity is 1 million tons per year. The solid waste of a pulp mill is usually sorted by their compositions. There are three kinds of solids waste. The first is from the fiber line plant, including chip fines and screen rejects. The second is inorganic solid which is mainly from the power and recovery plant, such as ash, dregs and grits. The last is the sludge form the effluent treatment plant. In this study, the comprehensive utilization of solid waste is discussed. The solid waste is used efficiently in the mill or conjunctive use with other mills. It brings significant economic benefits (about 49 million $ one year) for the pulp mill.
