摘要
The issue of quality assurance for the application of multi-dimensional numerical models for the prediction of flood events is addressed. The current state of the art is certainly far enough to guarantee credible and high-quality forecasts of these events. River training works or flood protection designs, e. g. dike relocation measures in order to reduce the flood potential or to minimize damage, can be simulated with modern CFD models. With a recent project study we show the application of a state-of-the-art 3D CFD model The use of bed and vegetative roughness formulae, where the parameters can be obtained from field work, certify high-quality prediction of flood events.
