摘要
Electroless nickel coatings have unique mechanical, electrical, and magnetic properties. These unique properties are due to the nanocrystalline nature of the deposits formed. Apart from this, electroless nickel plating (EN) process occurs autocatalytically without the use of external applied current. EN coatings also possess corrosion resistance properties for varying environments, which makes them suitable to application in chemical, oil, and gas industries. The combination of these coatings with phosphorus and other elements leads to enhancement of specific set of properties of these coatings. Engineers and designers should recognize EN as a diverse group of similar coatings having different attributes.
