Vibration control of rotor by magnetorheological fluid damper

摘要
The stiffness and damping of the MR damper are increased with the magnetic field strength increase, and the vibration amplitude of the rotor system supported by the MR damper is decreased at subcritical and critical speeds, and is increased at supercritical speed. The critical speed of the rotor system is increased with the increase of the applied magnetic field. The rotor vibration can be minimized within the range of all working speed by using simple on/off control method.
