Considering the influence of uncertainty of power flow distribution on power grid partition, a method for partitioning reactive power networks based on voltage critical steady state is proposed. Firstly, bus U-λ sensitivity derived from dynamic power flow equation is introduced into definition of reactive voltage/power sensitivity. Then an electrical distance matrix is constructed with the system voltage critical steady state as the partition point, and the adaptive AP clustering method is used to realize unified partition of the power grid. Finally, partition quality is evaluated from the perspectives of power control strength index, partition coupling degree index and reactive reserve margin index. Simulation result in IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 39-bus systems and partition quality evaluation index show that the proposed method can effectively partition power grid and ensure sufficient reactive reserve in the partition. © 2019, Power System Technology Press.
