Understanding the different features associated with a hybrid pressure transmitter will help you determine their suitability for a given application. Hybrids require power, which is usually not an issue if you are already retrofitting an analog or smart transmitter. However, some of the greater benefits of a hybrid are realised when you upgrade from passive, electromechanical switches that provide direct control.
