Application of adaptive digital beamforming in FMCW radar

In frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) radar, the target information is usually extracted by Range-Doppler processing. As the working environment of electromagnetism gets deteriorative and a great deal of jammings exist, target detection and information extraction at very low SINR are difficult. For array systems, the technique of adaptive digital beamforming (ADBF) is adopted to restrain the strong interfere or directional jamming. The application problem of ADBF in the FMCW radar is discussed, and the system schemes of ADBF combining with two different Range-Doppler processing methods are proposed. It's proved that the schemes are feasible and effective, and the SINR and detection performance of FMCW radar can be improved markedly.
