In the face of a shortening of Innovation and product life cycles, innovation governance is of central importance for business success. Procedures currently in use to evaluate and select innovation projects capture primarily the direct financial effects and omit sustainability-oriented effects that increasingly gain in importance for businesses. In this article, therefore, a framework is presented that enables to capture sustainability-oriented effects through a holistic innovation assessment. © Carl Hanser Verlag, München.
