Some of the significant features of a vibration testing equipments from SKF, a rolling bearing manufacturer, are presented. SKF has also developed an understanding of vibration phenomena in bearings, a method of measuring vibration, and a method to distinguish vibration like rolling elements induced vibration or damaged ring induced vibration. The MVH Vibration Tester of SKF can be used to analyze the structure-borne noise and vibration of deep groove ball bearing, angular contact ball bearing, self-aligning ball bearings, and spherical roller bearings. The MVH 90C/200C Vibration Tester has a semi-automatic operation process, while loading of the bearing on the test spindle, the pressing of the two-handed start, and the removal of the bearing after test are done manually. SKF is now focusing on the application of different sensor technologies, use of a noise map, and introduction of an expert system to improve the performance of its tester.
