摘要
Non-process element (NPE) analysis was performed on softwood (SW) and hardwood (HW) chips acquired from kraft pulping operations in the southeastern US. The NPE studies suggest a commonality to metal profiles in the SW and HW chips acquired from the US mills. This is due, in part, to the soil chemistry from which the tree samples were collected. HW samples introduce more NPEs into the pulping process than SW fiber.
