Old names dominate

International Paper held onto top slot in the PPI Top 100 ranking for year 2003 with its net sales from pulp, paper and converting operations worth $20,386 million. Elesewhere in the top 10, it was a case of similar faces, like Stora Enso, Kimberly-Clark and Oji Paper. The biggest riser on the chart was China's Shandong Chenming Paper (up from 115 to 85), aided by the startup of a new 200,000 tonne/yr woodfree coated PM in 2002.
