Effect of Armature Punching on Dynamic Response of High-Speed Solenoid Valve

In order to improve the dynamic response speed of high-speed solenoid valve of electronically controlled injection system of a marine diesel, a numerical simulation model of the solenoid valve was established and the modelling accuracy was verified by test data from the solenoid valve test bench. Based on the model, an armature punching simulation of the solenoid valve was conducted, and the influence of punching position and size on the dynamic response of the solenoid valve was studied. The results show that the armature punching in the inter-yoke area can increase the closing response of the solenoid valve much greater than the opening response of the valve. When the punching radius is 1.8 mm and the distance between the punching center and the armature center is 13 mm, the opening response time of the solenoid valve is increased by 11.7%, but the closing response time is reduced by 33.3%, causing a reduction of the overall response time of the solenoid valve by 13.2%. © 2021, Editorial Office of the Transaction of CSICE.
