The possibility of existence of a steadily equilibrions vapor-gas nucleus in a highly superheated liquid is shown. Phenomenological and kinetic models of its fluctuation-diffusion growth are proposed. Results of the calculation are in good agreement with the data of experiment. © 2003 Begell House, Inc.
