摘要：
The use of optical-performance monitoring (OPM) instruments which allowed service providers to oversee the reliability of an entire network was presented. The OPM was observed to extract a small percentage of the optical power from a network fiber and seperated the signals into individual channels according to their wavelength. OPM was found to be capable of measuring optical power, wavelength and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for each channels.
