A Review Panel (RP) established by the US DOE, reviews the proposal for a research that aims to explore advanced actuation methodologies that have the performance and capacity required for a new class of manipulation systems that will enable autonomous operations in D & D environments. Upon scrutiny of the project specifications, the RP concludes that the proposal is essentially a hardware development program. With a few modifications, the submission should be considered for support.
