Some problems about development of the phase-shifting laser interferometer for testing power spectral density in spatial medium frequency band of wavefront were discussed, Such as the strictly coherence of sources, the principle and method to deduce wavefront error due to stray -light fringe pattern, and the calibration of frequency response function for interferometer. The methods to solve these problems were presented. As a result, the frequency response characteristics and frequency resolution of the interferometer are improved and the frequency loss is recovered by the improved calibration process.
