摘要
There are a multitude of real time operating systems available in the commercial market today but one has to decide the suitability for a particular application. This paper will try to discuss this issue by first introducing the reader to the key concepts of operating systems for real time applications and then try to explain how the operating systems can be made to run in real time. Secondly, an overview of the various real time operating systems available in the market are given. Lastly, real time operating systems, most suitable for networking and communication in government applications are discussed.
