Pulverized fuel ash (pfa or fly ash) was studied to determine how the conveying performance of the fly ash is likely influenced by the mix of 'coarse' and 'fine' material. The nature of the changes that can occur was clarified. Similar conveying data obtained with granulated sugar and soda ash both show the influence on a wider range of materials, and that the influence is not always the same.
