The effect of chromium on the structure and properties of diffusion boride coatings

摘要
The effect of chromium concentration in boride powder mixture on modification of lattice parameters, microhardness, and energetic BKα spectrum of FeB boride in coating is studied. An increase in microhardness of boride phase in concentration range of 3.5-6 mass % of Cr in powder boriding mixture is ascertained, being accompanied by decrease in lattice parameter FeB phase. Energetic BKα spectrum examination for FeB phase enables to explain this effect by increase of covalent constituent in chemical bonding of Fe-B.
