摘要：
This paper deals with the professional fields of engineering and technology sciences in Germany. It highlights the differences between the professions of an engineer and a technology scientist. First, we describe the tasks of technology science. In a second chapter, the occupational profile of engineering professionals, and engineering itself is regarded. The final chapter summarizes some conclusions from the previous remarks for the education of engineers and technology scientists. © Carl Hanser Verlag.
