摘要
The size of the Spanish road network is about 670.000 km approximately. Furthermore, it has been evaluated that about 6500 km2 of the Spanish land are occupatied by the rout of the road and its associated elements, such as cuts, embankments and intersections(8). That could provide an idea about the work volume that the maintenance and conservation road work represents. One of the pending issues in conservation subject is its relationship with the environment. Some of the operations that conservation involves could have negative impact if they are not considerate in a right way. In that manner; The Spanish Road Association has developed the project called Sustainable Road Management, with the object to develop a Best Practices Guide to guarantee environmental friendly maintenance works.
